Composition Crossfit III

Learn techniques that will help you get your tracks finished!

- 4 week course

- for all genres

- sharpen your writing skills.   


Learn compositional techniques in a fun creative way.  We will have weekly assignments and writing exercises to help learn and internalize these concepts. Add some tools in your compositional tool belt with this class!


Week 1 - Borrow from yourself - learn to analyze your own work and pull key factors for progress
Week 2 - Opposites Attract - work on defining sections and keep your track growing
Week 3 - Rewrites - we will look at how our head space might need to alter throughout our writing process
Week 4 - Variations - we will analyze a piece of "theme and variations" and pull concepts on how to apply that to our track

Challenge-based obstacle course to strengthen your composition core

During the 4 Weeks we will discuss a compositional concept and composers will be given a musical restraint assignment, the parameters of which will require them to rely on multiple senses and musical textures to complete the tasks.

 

Previous CrossFits are not required for this class.
